Cookie Policy
Last updated: May 2026
This Cookie Policy explains what cookies are, which ones coldsea uses, and why. coldsea uses cookies only where necessary to operate the platform — never for advertising or cross-site tracking.
1. What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored on your device by your browser when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work efficiently and to provide information to website owners. Cookies can be “session” cookies (deleted when you close your browser) or “persistent” cookies (retained on your device for a set period or until you delete them).
2. Cookies We Use
coldsea uses only strictly necessary / functional cookies. We do not use any advertising, tracking, or analytics cookies.
Authentication cookie
When you sign in, our authentication provider (Supabase) sets a session cookie that keeps you logged in as you navigate the platform. This cookie contains a secure, encrypted session token. Without it, you would be signed out on every page load.
- Name:
sb-<project>-auth-token - Purpose: Authentication — maintains your logged-in session.
- Duration: Up to 7 days (refreshed automatically when active).
- Type: Strictly necessary.
Cookie consent cookie
When you acknowledge the cookie banner, we store a small preference cookie so the banner does not reappear on subsequent visits.
- Name:
cs-cookie-consent - Purpose: Remembers that you have acknowledged this cookie notice.
- Duration: 365 days.
- Type: Functional.
3. Cookies We Do Not Use
We explicitly do not use any of the following:
- Advertising cookies — we serve no advertisements and do not place cookies for ad targeting or retargeting.
- Cross-site tracking cookies — we do not track your activity on other websites.
- Analytics cookies — we do not use third-party analytics services (e.g., Google Analytics) that set persistent tracking cookies.
- Social media pixels — no Facebook, Twitter/X, LinkedIn, or similar tracking pixels are embedded on coldsea.
4. Local Storage
In addition to cookies, we may use browser localStorage or sessionStorage for small UI preferences (for example, remembering draft post text or UI state between page navigations). This data is stored entirely on your device, is never transmitted to our servers, and can be cleared at any time by clearing your browser’s site data.
5. Managing Cookies
Because we use only strictly necessary and functional cookies, the platform requires them to function correctly. However, you can manage or delete cookies at any time through your browser settings:
- Chrome: Settings → Privacy and Security → Cookies and other site data.
- Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data.
- Safari: Preferences → Privacy → Manage Website Data.
- Edge: Settings → Cookies and site permissions → Cookies and site data.
Note that blocking or deleting the authentication cookie will sign you out of coldsea and prevent you from staying logged in.
6. Third-Party Cookies
Our service providers (Supabase, AWS CloudFront) may set their own technical cookies for the purpose of delivering the service (e.g., CDN routing, load balancing). These are not used for advertising and are strictly necessary for the platform to function. We have no control over these cookies but they do not contain personally identifiable information beyond what is required for session routing.
7. Changes to This Policy
If we introduce new types of cookies, we will update this policy and, where required by law, seek your consent before placing them. The “last updated” date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
